GetInvolved-BG

The history of Williamson County is complex and rich in a diverse human experience spanning hundreds of years. From the Paleo period through the Civil War until present day, the county has endured many joyous times but also many trials and tribulations. Understanding the four cornerstones which the county was built on: religion, history, education, and agriculture, will give you a deeper understanding of its people. Virginia Bowman, an early historian of the county, would write in her book, Historic Williamson County: Old Home Sites, regarding the importance of understanding the four cornerstones “God grant that succeeding generations will recognize the importance of each and continue to hold the torches high.”  Join us as we explore the foundation, settlement, and growth of our great county.
